Devanshi Gupta is one of the youngest published writers of India. She is the author of two mystery and adventure novels–The Secret of Volcanic Island and Mysterious Mrs. Jain.

This young author was facilitated by APJ Abdul Kalam for her two novels. Her books’ launch was conducted in December, 2014, and her chief guest was Anjum Chopra, one of the leading female cricketers of India.

Devanshi is an avid reader of books. In fact, you can always find her with her nose buried in one. She thinks that the power words have to evoke emotions and impact readers on a psychological level is surreal, and diving into the world of books is essential for the expansion of the mind.

She is also known for posting cheesy author quotes on twitter and tweeting-cum-urging people to read. Currently, she runs a poetry page on Instagram, @eccentric_writer, which boasts of 4k followers.

In 2013, Devanshi clinched a position among the top hundred winners of Igenius Youg Authors’ Hunt, in which thousands of children from across India participated. She obtained the grand privilege of meeting and being assessed by India’s celebrated authors, Chetan Bhagat and Ruskin Bond. The experience has been very inspiring for her.

Devanshi’s favourite novels and series include: God of Small Things, Harry Potter, Hunger Games, A Song of Ice and fire, The Golden Compass, Death Note, Daughter of Smoke and Bone, . . . and the list goes on and on.

Apart from being interested in novels, Devanshi likes to sing, dance, obsess over swords, and fuss over her houseplants. She holds a brown belt in Karate and is known to show a fearless attitude in real life like the protagonists of her novels do. Devanshi believes her journey has just started, and there is a long way for her to go.
